BREAKING: Bell Gardens Mayor Daniel Crespo has died after being shot in a domestic dispute with his wife, who was in custody, authorities said.
Their 19-year-old son tried to intervene in an argument, then the father and son struggled. Crespo was shot multiple times in the torso by his wife, according to authorities.
Crespo was elected in 2001 and had worked for L.A. County for more than 21 years. His bio page says he married his high school sweetheart.
